What is This
I often come across problems and algorithms that I’d like to chronicle, plus I think it would be nice to see the progression of my problem-solving brain. After just one semester of TA’ing 210, I am much smarter than I was before (is that because I was dumb before, because I’m smart now, or both…) and I hope that by following the advice below, I continue to get smarter.
Advice from Prof. Anderson
One time in his office, he said that the best way to learn algorithms is to sit with a problem and get stuck with it until you solve it. He also mentioned that he does the LeetCode daily problems, but not really daily, as in he’ll keep working on a previous day’s problem if he hasn’t solved it yet.
I’ll document my getting stuck moments as best as possible, and hopefully build a record of my brain expanding.
SPOILER ALERT
Many of the blog posts below contain solutions to problems. So you probably shouldn’t look at them unless you’ve solved or intend to never solve the problem the blog post discusses.
