I’m going to chronicle the experience of porting my job application tracker from Google Sheets to a custom Zig app.

I went ahead and completed Ziglings before starting and I’m referencing it as I go. I’m using zero coding agents, and using Google Gemini (and the Notebooks feature) as a brainstorming tool to bounce ideas off of and to critique my design choices.

Hopefully this helps me learn about the following things:

1. Zig
2. Databases
3. why does notion charge me so much for charts
4. data-oriented programming (as per Ziglings little hint)
5. high-performance systems programming
6. GUI making, since I never touch frontend stuff.

and more I guess.
